Thomas Earl McCutchen

Thomas E. McCutchen, the son of the late Maggie Moore and Jessie McCutchen was born on June 12, 1944, in Robeson County, North Carolina. He entered eternal rest on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at Stafford Hospital in Stafford, VA. Thomas grew up and attended public school in North Carolina before moving to Alexandria, VA in his early twenties. Thomas worked several jobs, to name a few, Herby’s Ford, Impact Office Products, Miller’s Supplies and American Locksmith. Thomas loved spending time with his family, fishing, going to concerts, plays, listening to his oldies but goodies and the casino. He was always down for a road trip to travel back home. You were guaranteed to catch Thomas watching westerns, CNN news and Family Feud, where he would call out the answers like he hadn’t already seen the episode a time or two. Thomas would often remind us that he was the baby of the bunch, aka, a momma’s boy. Thomas was a long-time member of the Acacia Lodge #32 where he rose in rank to serve as a Worshipful Master. Thomas was preceded in death by his mother and father, his wife, Betty J. McCutchen, his sisters Legetha Moore, Flora Davis, Lillian Livingston, Augusta Adair, and Jeanette Davis. A brother, Phillip Moore, Jr. and a grandson, Arron M. Wade. Thomas leaves to cherish his loving memories, a daughter, Lynn R. Wilbon, of Stafford, VA, a son, Thomas E. Nesbitt (Jackie) of Stafford, VA. Two stepsons, Willie L. Nesbitt, and William Johnson and two stepdaughters, Brenda Nesbitt, and Valeria McElrath-Smith. His grandchildren, Gennaro Nesbitt (Vanessa) of Spotsylvania, VA, Asya M. Wilbon of Orange County, CA, Anthony Wade of Woodbridge, VA, Angel Gibbs, and Antonio Gibbs, of Richmond, VA, Adrian Gibbs and Amaya Gibbs of Stafford, VA. He also leaves four great grandchildren, Geniya Watson-Nesbitt, Gennaro A. Nesbitt, Jr., Laila Nesbitt, and Leilani Nesbitt. Brothers, Elijah Moore, (Lizzie) of Woodbridge, VA and Ronnie Buie of Red Springs, NC. Sisters Betty Galbreath (James), Rogerlene McLinnahan both of Red Springs, NC and Carolyn Buie of San Antonio, TX. A host of family and friends and a great friend of over fifty years, Donald Goode. Thomas' presence will be missed. Although we loved him, God loved him best. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain; for the former things are passed away.
