Sandie Simpson

Sandie M. Simpson, age 76 passed away August 4, 2020 due to complications from Corona Virus. She was a resident of Virginia Beach Healthcare. She lived in Alexandria, Va from 1976 - 2012. Sandie was born the only child of David Simpson Jr. & Jacqueline Marie Daggett (Simpson) on August 30, 1943 in Augusta, Maine, she is preceded in death by both of her parents. She graduated from the Immaculate Conception Academy in Washington, D.C. on June 5, 1962. Sandie worked on Capitol Hill where she met her husband, Warren Buck, the father of Denise & Dawn. She later had another daughter, Julie in April 1981. She had a career as a dental assistant and held multiple sales jobs in which she reached top honors in Tupperware & Avon sales. Sandie loved dancing since a small child, Motown music & created the party around her. In addition, she was passionate about beauty culture and loved to dress well, coordinating many outfits especially with her jewelry! She was very artistic, making crafts and sewing mother daughter outfits. Sandie loved life, animals, especially her cats, cooking, family events/holidays and spending time at the beach with family & friends. She possessed an engaging, outgoing personality and easily made friends who have many funny stories to tell! So many of her friends affectionally called her “Mom” or “San”, she will truly be missed by all that she knew. She is survived by her three daughters, Denise Buck (Ed Johnson), Dawn Burroughs (Tony), Julie Buelk (Nick); four grandchildren, Brian Burroughs (Bethany) Kellie Burroughs, Travis Vaughan (Sabrina) and Corbin Buelk, and five great grandchildren, Blake, Blair, Brooks and Beau Burroughs and Luciana Vaughan. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Sunday August 30th at Jefferson Funeral Chapel, 5755 Castlewellan Dr. Alexandria, VA 22315. The Service will be Livestreamed on their website due to Corona Virus restrictions. Interment will be held privately on a later date. The family kindly requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Fancycats.org or an animal shelter of your choice in Sandie’s honor.
