Roy Lee Cameron

Roy Lee Cameron, a beloved father, veteran, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 1, 2025, in Williamsburg, Virginia, at the age of 78 due to natural causes alongside his wife, daughter and niece. He was born on June 8, 1946, in Loudon County, to Elwood Cameron and Frances Collyer, who instilled in him the values of hard work and kindness that he carried throughout his life. Roy was a proud Marine, having served his country with honor and dedication. His time in the military shaped him into the outgoing and spirited individual he became, always ready with a joke or a story to lighten the mood. After his service, he returned to Virginia, where he built a fulfilling career in the concrete industry, then ultimately retiring from Robinson Terminal, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and commitment. Roy’s vibrant personality drew people to him wherever he went. He had an incredible ability to make friends, often leaving a trail of laughter and joy in his wake. His love for telling jokes, coupled with his passion for football, wrestling and food, made him a delightful companion and a cherished presence in the lives of those who knew him. He is preceded in death by his parents Elwood Cameron and Frances Collyer, siblings, Betty Sauer, Billy Cameron, Jimmy Collyer and Susan Embrey who will surely greet him with open arms in the afterlife. Roy is survived by his loving wife Linda Cameron and daughter Michelle Cameron, sisters Joyce, Linda, Shirley, Brenda and Martha who will forever carry his spirit in their hearts. His love was a guiding light in their lives, and his legacy of caring and humor will live on through them. Roy's services will be held at Jefferson Funeral Home, 5755 Castlewellan Dr, Alexandria, VA 22315 Viewings will take place on Sunday April 6, 2025, from 2:00PM-6:00PM & Monday April 7, 2025, from 10:00AM – 11:00AM. The funeral service will be held on April 7, 2025, at 11:00 AM. We will conclude services at Mount Comfort Cemetery for Roy’s final resting place. Family and friends are invited to come together to honor the life of a remarkable man who touched so many with his love and laughter. As we remember Roy, let us celebrate the joy he brought into our lives and the enduring love he shared with his family and friends. His memory will forever be cherished, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May Roy rest in peace for eternity!
