Rita C. Bisgrove

Rita “Reenie” Bisgrove, born May 25, 1937 in Worland, WY to the late John and Altie (Tindall) Hohenshelt passed away at age 88 on January 23, 2026. She was a loving wife, devoted mother of six, one of whom passed away at three days old, and matriarch to many. Reenie graduated from high school in 1955. She attended Draughon School of Business in Amarillo, TX where she met her husband of sixty-six years, Don Bisgrove, whom she married March 18, 1957, also in Amarillo, TX. They traveled the world extensively during and following Don’s United States Air Force (USAF) career. In 1977, Reenie began her own 20-year career as a USAF munitions planner working at the Pentagon. Reenie and Don raised five children: Debra (deceased), Christopher, Douglas, Julie, and Tina. Reenie enjoyed traveling and the outdoors. Everyone knew Reenie for her storytelling, quick wit, and her spirit of adventure. Reenie was predeceased by her husband Donald Bisgrove and her children John and Debra. She is survived by her son-in-law Jeffery and four children, Christopher (Lori), Douglas (Marilyn), Julie, and Tina Coleman (John). Don and Reenie have a total of 17 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren: Melissa (James), Jordan, Jordan Jr., Gage, Paige, Bryleigh, Ezekiel, and Devon; Rachel (Randy), Ryzon and Reign; Lindsey, Nyla; Joshua (CeJay), Gaia; Caleb (Cheyenne), Jacoby and Ander; Chaeli, Carli and Connor; Gregory (dec.); Debbie and Katie and Keegan, David, Daniel, Dean; Danielle (Ryan), Lily and Zoey, Thomas, Ethan and Jessica. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Springfield, VA, on Friday, February 6th. A viewing will begin at 10:30 AM in the church vestibule, followed by Mass at 11:00 AM. Immediately afterward, around noon, we’ll come together for a reception in the Bradican Room on the lower level of the Parish Office building (glass doors facing the lower parking lot). Anyone who loved her is welcome to join us as we share stories, hugs, and the togetherness she always cherished.
