Patrick Douglas Baillargeon

Patrick Baillargeon passed away suddenly on February 15 of heart failure in the presence of his fiancé who was visiting for the Valentine’s Day weekend. He was born on March 25, 1962, to Joseph Douglas and Shirley Ann (Mayes) Baillargeon in Hopkinsville, KY. At an early age, he moved with the family to his father’s hometown of Lawrence, MA, followed by moves to Fayetteville, NC and Hopkinsville, KY. After graduating from high school, Patrick answered the call to serve his country and joined the U.S. Army, carrying a love for music with him. After military service, he lived in Memphis, TN, where he fell in love at the early age of 23 and married that charming young Memphis girl. The marriage ended, and Patrick settled in the Northern Virginia area since 1988. Young love continued, however, as he and his first love reconnected over the years. During this past Valentine’s Day weekend together, they announced their plans to remarry. Patrick had a special gift, a love and talent for music. As a talented guitarist, he once traveled with a heavy metal band to Kazakhstan on a State Department-hosted cultural exchange visit. He proudly told the family the band was greeted as “Rock Stars.” The guitar became an extension of his life, a way of enjoying his many friends with music and rhythm throughout his life. His friendly and outgoing nature set him on a career path of many new and interesting work experiences – e.g., retail management, computer training, restaurant work -- that offered opportunities to meet and develop friends in all walks of life. Patrick is survived by his brother Christopher Baillargeon; aunt Bette Cook; nephews Shelby Tauberschmidt and Casey Tauberschmidt; cousins Patricia Halper, Cynthia Gregg, Joseph Cook, Arthur Taviera, Stephen Taviera, Camilia Taviera; and fiancé Kellye Walker. Patrick is preceded in death by his father Joseph Douglas Baillargeon; mother Shirley Mayes Baillargeon; brother James Leroy Tauberschmidt; uncle Antonio Gerald Baillargeon; aunts Elizabeth Taviera, Marjorie Nelson, Peggy Putman, and Edith Fletcher; and niece Miley Tauberschmidt. And Patrick, a man of strong devotion and commitment who was much loved and deeply respected, leaves behind many friends, family, and more relatives than mentioned here. Please join us for the Celebration of Life for Patrick on Monday, February 23, 2026, 4:00-8:00 p.m., at Starr Hill Tysons, 7730 Capitol One Tower Road, Tysons, Virginia. Please feel free to bring snapshots of yourself with Patrick and your stories too. We will celebrate with hearts full of laughter, joy, and tears. Our grief reflects our love for having Patrick in our lives for this brief and meaningful moment in time.
