Morgan Kay Jordan

Ms. Morgan Kay Jordan is the youngest child of Bonita Kay Jordan (née Johnson) and Colonel Boykin B. Jordan, Jr., United States Air Force, Retired. Morgan was born on March 30, 2004 at Christus Schumpert Hospital in Shreveport, LA. She answered the Master’s call on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at the University of Arizona in Tucson, AZ. To her mother, she was affectionally known as the “Miracle Angel Baby” and “Pork Chops”. Ms. Jordan was a member of Living Word Baptist Church and the Ruth E. Jordan Tent of the United Order of Tents in Timmonsville, SC. She received her formal education from the Fairfax County Public Schools in Springfield, VA and the University of Arizona. Ms. Jordan attended Forestdale Elementary School, Key Middle School and graduated with honors in the Class of 2022 at John Lewis High School. At her passing, Morgan was a senior in the Class of 2026 pursuing a double bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology and Psychology at the University of Arizona. Ms. Jordan was an active girl scout from elementary through high school. She was the President of the Red Cross Club and a member of the Key Club in high school. Morgan supported her high school sports teams by being the score keeper for several basketball teams and the equipment manager for the women’s lacrosse team. Her favorite outdoor activity was the monthly Lake Accotink Park Clean Up. She continued to volunteer and serve others in college. Morgan was the Director of Philanthropy in the American Medical School Association (AMSA) and a member of the Women in Medical Sciences (WIMS). Morgan loved her sisters in Alpha Delta Pi Sorority and participating in community service events with them. She often volunteered to serve food in homeless shelters. The opportunity to shadow in the medical offices of Dr. Steven Wool really fueled her enthusiasm for a career in healthcare. Ms. Jordan was preceded in death by her grandparents, David “DJ” and Clara Mae Johnson, Jr., and Reverend Boykin and Ruth Jordan; three uncles: Thomas Haigler, Marion Williams, Jr. and Llewellyn “Lew” Jordan. Left to cherish Ms. Morgan Kay Jordan’s precious memories are her parents of Springfield, VA. Her brother, Boykin B. Jordan, III, of Springfield, VA. Seven uncles: Larry (Joann) Johnson, Timmonsville, SC; Bennie (Shelia) Johnson, Woodbridge, VA; Rodney (Betty) Johnson, Columbia, SC; Craig (Dionne) Johnson, Aurora, CO, Derick (Elaine) Johnson, Lynchburg, SC; Michael (Andrea) Johnson, Florence, SC; Terrance (Sonia) Johnson, Florence, SC. Eight aunts: Diane Haigler, Timmonsville, SC; Cindy (Michael) Worrell, Lawrenceville, GA; Wanda (Jack) Smith, Phoenix, AZ; Vickie Williams, Effingham, SC; Pamela (Shawn) Smith, Florence, SC; Tisha (Terrele) Bailey, Effingham, SC; Valerie (Keron) Williams, Timmonsville, SC; Yasmin Jordan, Timmonsville, SC. The list of survivors includes a host of other relatives and friends. Ms. Morgan Kay Jordan touched many lives as she traveled down life’s highway and death cannot remove what her love has been to all of us. As her earthly parents, we know that she was a miracle of God and accept that her work here on earth is done. Her loving nature is a reminder of 1 Corinthians 13:13, “Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love. God blessed us with a child that loved helping others and she will live on in our memories and the memories of countless others! — Boykin Jr. and Bonita.
