Mary Frances Wells

Mary “Fuzzy” Frances Wells, 83, of Alexandria, Virginia, passed away peacefully on November 9, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Born with a joyful spirit and a heart full of generosity, Mary devoted her life to the people she cherished most. She was the beloved wife of Jesse Wells, a devoted mother to Travis Wells (Beatriz) and Dena Casamassima (Sergio), a proud grandmother to Alex Amezcua, Nicolas Wells, Jessica Wells, Jacob Hill, Giuliana Casamassima, and a great grandmother to Hunter Wells. She also cherished her step-grandchildren, Beatriz “Bea” Mena and Jonathon Diaz (now deceased), all of whom she held close to her heart. Being a wife, a mother, a grandmother, a great-grandmother, and a step-grandmother wasn’t just part of Mary’s life – it was her greatest joy. Mary came from a family with strong roots and deep love. She is preceded in death by her parents, Tobe & Ola Frazier; her sisters Zona Smith and Anna “Liz” Frazier; her brothers David Frazier, Robert Frazier, and Harmon Frazier. And while she missed them dearly, she also carried forward their strength and their spirit. She is survived by her brother Harvey Frazier, numerous nieces/nephews, and a large extended family. Her love extended beyond her immediate family. She especially adored her surviving niece and nephews - Deborah “Sis” Page, Rodney Thomas and Darrell “Tink” Thomas - each held an extra-special place in her heart. Mary’s greatest passion was family - she never missed an opportunity to celebrate their milestones or support their dreams. Mary had a beautiful way of making everyone feel welcome. With her gentle humor, she could make any room brighter. Her other great love was playing B-I-N-G-O at the Franconia Fire Department in Springfield, Virginia, where she played for over 50 years. Mary found friendship, fun, and endless enjoyment there. Whether at home or with her bingo community, she brought laughter and light to every room she entered. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, loyalty, and unwavering love. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her warmth will continue to shine in the hearts of all who knew her. Let us honor her life by carrying forward her warmth, her generosity, and her boundless spirit. “Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us every day…unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed, and very dear to our hearts.” In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Franconia Fire Department in honor of Mary’s memory.
