Marie Ann (Riley) Gordon Marie Gordon passed away on February 14, 2026, in Springfield, VA. Marie was the devoted and loving wife of the late Eugene C. Gordon, Jr. for nearly 70 years. Marie was a beloved mother to Mike (Judy) of Charleston, SC, Bill (Jane) of Burke, VA, and Bob (Shirley) of Surfside Beach, SC, and loving grandmother to seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Marie was born and raised in Pittston, PA to the late James B. Riley and Leona H. (nee Brady) Riley. Marie moved to Arlington, VA in her 20s to work for the C&P Telephone Co. It was in Clarendon that she met the love of her life, Gene, and got married. Soon thereafter, they moved to the Virginia Hills neighborhood of Fairfax County where they raised their family and lived for nearly 60 years. They were long time members of St. Louis Catholic Church. For the last 12 years, Marie was a resident of Greenspring Village in Springfield, VA. Marie was born to the late James B. Riley and Leona Brady on December 29, 1925. She was preceded in death by her brothers James and Edmund and her sister Alice Johnson. She is survived by her sister Peggy Hunter, sister-in-law Margaret (Mickey) Gordon, and numerous nephews and nieces. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, February 25, at 10:00 AM at Nativity Catholic Church in Burke, VA, 22015, with interment immediately following at Columbia Gardens Cemetery in Arlington, VA.
