James Clifton Shores

Jim (James) Clifton Shores of Alexandria Virginia, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 06, 2023. Jim was a beloved husband to Vickie Shores for 39 years. He was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, son, son-in-law and friend to many. Jim is preceded in death by his father and mother, Fred & Carol Shores of Christiansburg, VA. He is survived by his wife and soulmate, Vickie Shores, of Alexandria, VA; cherished son, Daniel Shores, and daughter-in-law, Molly Shores, of Richmond, VA; adored daughter, Laura Libby, and son-in-law, Johnathon Libby, of Triangle, VA; prized grandchildren, Oliver and Clara Shores, and Connor Libby; sister, Vicki Perkins, of Christiansburg, VA; sister, Michele Gerhard, of Huntsville, AL; mother-in-law and numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews. Jim's faith in Christ's death and resurrection was the foundation of his relationship with God and how he simply lived his life. Jim will be truly missed by so many members of his family, friends, co-workers, church family, and clients. He was the owner and President of CTSS Inc for 33 years. Jim’s love for the Lord and his unwavering faith is an amazing inspiration and loving memory to his family. Jim had many hobbies, interests, and talents including computers, audio, electronics, woodworking, hunting, grilling, and vintage cars. He was a jack of all trades and in all he had, it had to be Heavy Duty, otherwise he made it Heavy Duty. When Jim fixed it or built it, it was rock-solid and dependable. Jim loved being on beach trips, camping excursions, and other vacations with family, friends, and co-workers. He had countless garage hours and road trips to the Carlisle Fairgrounds with his son, family, and friends (most often with fellow project car enthusiast and buddy, Steve Lloyd). His annual trips with Vickie on each wedding anniversary were especially loved by Jim. Jim loved his family deeply. To all who knew Jim it was his signature laugh and expressions of his wonderful dry wit that will be remembered. May you continue to hold tightly to the special memories, laughter, and experiences you shared with Jim. Visitation at Engleside Baptist Church, 8428 Highland Lane, Alexandria, VA 22309, on Saturday, July 15, 2023, from 1-2PM. Funeral service immediately following at 2PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to any American Kidney Fund www.kidneyfund.org American Heart Association www.heart.org or benevolence fund of Engleside Baptist Church, checks made payable to Engleside.
