Gloria Maria Romero Erazo

Gloria M. Romero Erazo, peacefully passed away on January 20th, 2024, after battling cancer for 3 years. She passed in the comfort of her own home surrounded by her loved ones; Husband William Grundy, Mother Silveria Almendarez and Children Ramon Hernandez, Aryana Hernandez, Katheryne Grundy, and Mariela Grundy. Born on October 11, 1977, in Honduras. Daughter of Silveria De Jesus Almendarez and Jose Francisco Romero. Gloria was a devoted mother to four. Made sure all her children were always better than okay. She adored spending most of her time with her family, wanting the best for us and always putting our needs before her own. Gloria was a risk taker and wasn’t afraid of taking upon new challenges. She is an individual who can put her mind to anything and achieve them. In recent years, she made one of dreams come true; participating in the marine corps race. To be qualified, she had to participate in multiple races close to home and in other states as well. She enjoyed running either on her own, with her daughters, niece, or pet. She continued to push herself daily, expanding her hobbies, knowledge and connections. Those around Gloria were immediately able to feel her very bright and genuine spirit. She brought light to any room and filled all of our hearts with joy, the center of our happiness. Even after hearing the heartbreaking news of her diagnosis, she held her head high, continued to be positive, and fought until the very end. She had a strong and genuine heart and will always be remembered like that. Mom, you were our guide and our rock. Each and every one of us are who we are because of you. Thank you, Ma, for raising us and loving us as much as you could have. We all know you're at peace in heaven and you will always be in our hearts. Gloria’s legacy will continue through her husband William Grundy. Children Ramon Hernandez, Aryana Hernandez, Katheryne Grundy, and Mariela Grundy. Mother Silveria Almendarez. Siblings Dionisio Erazo, Tesla Erazo, Martin Erazo, Jorge Erazo, and Noel Erazo. She joins her grandparents Dionisio Erazo and Josefina Canelas. Relatives and friends may be received at Jefferson Funeral Chapel, 5755 Castlewellan Drive, Alexandria, VA, 22315 on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at 4:00 PM-8:00 PM. Graveside service and burial to follow at Mount Comfort Cemetery, 6600 S Kings Hwy, Alexandria, VA 22306, on Wednesday January 24, 2024, at 1 PM.
