Charlene Elizabeth Crawford

Charlene Elizabeth Crawford, beloved daughter of Clare Crawford-Mason and Robert W. Mason, Jr., and the late Honorable Victor L. Crawford, died unexpectedly from a sudden illness on Saturday night, July 6, 2024, at her home in Alexandria, Virginia, surrounded by her loving family and friends. Charlene was born on June 20, 1967, in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Growing up in Washington, D.C., Charlene graduated from St. Patrick's Episcopal Day School, Blessed Sacrament School, and Immaculata Preparatory School. Before earning her bachelor's degree from the University of Maryland, she spent several treasured years skiing and enjoying the outdoors in Aspen, Colorado. Charlene began her career at TBA Global and after a successful decade, as a highly motivated and talented professional, she transitioned to an Independent Event Producer. Where she was revered as a renowned thought leader in accounting and finance, collaborating with companies such as Freeman, CVS, AT&T, and Amazon. A generous soul with a heart of gold, Charlene will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She lived her life with honesty, grace, and an unwavering love for her family and friends. She took great joy in arranging gatherings at Middlesex Beach, Delaware for her extended family and friends. Her favorite times were spent as CharChar and Auntie Charlene to her godchildren Sarah and Ryan Chawki, and her brother Victor’s grandchildren, James, June and Millie White. She is survived by her parents, Clare and Bob Mason; her stepmother, Linda Crawford Adelberg (Arthur); her adoring brothers, Victor Crawford, Jr., John Fox Mason, and Robert Mason, III; stepsister Elizabeth Christenson (Richard Meese); her maternal aunt, Lee Wootten; loving niece, Heather White (Brian); nephew Benjamin Hughes; and devoted friends AnnMarie Hritz, Meghan Clinton, and Amin Chawki. A memorial service celebrating Charlene's life will be on Saturday, September 7th, 11 a.m. at the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament, 5949 Western Ave. NW, Washington, D.C.
