After graduating from Cathedral Prep & Gannon University, Bill moved to Detroit, Michigan where he embarked on a successful career in the automotive industry. With his strong value on education, Bill received an MBA from Wayne State University and a Masters in Econometrics from the University of Detroit, and remained a life-long learner. Bill retired from General Motors Truck & Bus (Pontiac Truck Assembly & Flint Truck Assembly) after 35 years where he served as General Superintendent of Truck Assembly. Retirement led to his residing in Florida and Ohio, and ultimately the last few years in Alexandria,VA. Married to his best friend & wife Mimi sharing 39+ wonderful, adventurous, and loving years. He loved sailing, snow skiing, and cruising on his 1997 Harley Springer. An avid fisherman, he and Mimi enjoyed fly fishing in Canada, Alaska, Wyoming, & the Florida Keys. Bill & Mimi’s interest in horses led to ownership in thoroughbred race horses, traveling to many race tracks across the country to watch them compete. Bill loved music, reading, and attending cultural events including live theatre, musical performances, art galleries, and museums. Attending major sporting events was also a passion, including The Indy 500 for 20 years, and The Breeders Cup for 22 consecutive years. Bill was a dedicated and devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, & friend. He cherished time with his family and was always offering help and guidance to the many people who crossed his path in life, embracing them as family. A truly humble & most generous man, and proud of his Polish heritage.
