Sandra Jean Phelps, 74, passed away Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at Mary Washington Hospital. Sandra was born on July 19, 1946 in Washington DC to Carroll and Alice Sutton. Sandra loved her family and was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She loved animals and enjoyed baking, landscaping and playing poker. In addition to her parents, Sandra was preceded in death by her husband John Phelps. Surviving are her son, Bo Hanlin (Wendy); two grandchildren, Tanner and Emily; and one brother, Billy Sutton. A graveside service will be held at Mt. Comfort Cemetery, Alexandria, VA, on Monday, September 21, 2020 at 11:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the ASPCA.
