Salvatore Simonetti Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Salvatore Simonetti age 78, died peacefully at home on April 5, 2020, 11 days prior to his 79th birthday. His family, friends, co-workers, and acquaintances all knew him as a kind, honest and loving man, with renowned optimism and smiles. Known for his strong work ethic, his career as an accountant covered companies ranging from New York, Rhode Island, Virginia and Washington, DC. He was always ready with a joke to try to make people laugh. Regardless of the success of his joke with others, he, himself, would lapse into contagious giggles and laughter. He endured life-long illness, having had Rheumatic fever as a child, in the time before penicillin. This led to several open heart surgeries, the first when he was just 30 years old. Even though the operation was experimental at the time, he wanted to see his five year-old daughter grow up. This courage saw him through two more open-heart surgeries. He delighted in his grandchildren, seeing them most days as they lived just two doors away. His grandson, Tristan favors him, as we could see in pictures of him in his youth. He is survived by his wife, Doris,of 55 years, his daughter, Tara, his son-in-law, Bill, his granchildren, Amelie and Tristan, and siblings, Sandra, Joanna, Lucille, Patrick, Joey and George.
