Ron S. Kobus

December 12, 1944 - April 17, 2022

Ronald “Ron” Stanley Kobus, 77, of Alexandria, Virginia, passed on Sunday, April 17, 2022. Ron was born in Brooklyn, New York on December 12, 1944 to the late Joseph and Tessie Kobus. He grew up in Bayonne, New Jersey. Ron lived in Alexandria, Virginia, for over 50 years. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Seton Hall University in June of 1966 and later with a Master of Business Administration from George Mason University in May of 1978. He became licensed as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in April 1974. Ron became a Certified Fraud Examiner and was an active member of American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, The National Society of Tax Professionals, The National Association of Tax Professionals, and The Society of Public Accountants. Ron proudly served his country and was honorably discharged from the US Army as a 1st Lieutenant where he specialized as a sharpshooter. He worked the majority of his career as a federal government employee with both the Office of Personnel Management and the General Service Administration for over 35 years. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 52 years, Tricia Kobus. He is the loving father of Sherry Kobus and Ronald Kobus (Leslie) and cherished grandfather of Kimberly and Elliot Kobus. He enjoyed going to the Washington football and Nationals baseball games, boating and yearly vacations with his family at the beach. Ron was a puzzle solving enthusiast and loved gardening with his grandchildren. He is loved tremendously and will be truly missed.
