Louise Virginia Westgate

Louise Virginia Humphries Westgate, age 93, of Alexandria, VA passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 6th, 2022. Louise was born on Flag Day, June 14th, 1928 to the late George W. and Louise R. Humphries. Louise grew up in Alexandria, VA where she met and fell in love with Ralph J. Westgate. They married on September 10th, 1948 and raised their 4 children in the Northern VA. Louise had an open door policy and all were welcome in her home whether family or friend. The home on Greendale Road held many barbeques, crab feasts and family wiffle ball tournaments. Louise especially loved children and spent summers watching her grandchildren grow up. Louise was an avid Bingo player and loved vacationing at the beach. She also enjoyed watching the Chicago Cubs, her daytime stories, an ice cold Budweiser and above all, her family. Louise was predeceased by her beloved husband Ralph and two grandchildren, Tommy Westgate, and Jamie Westgate. Survivors include her children: Gary (Bev) Westgate of Stafford, VA, Debbie (Phil) Gaughf of Angier, NC, Wayne (Algene) Westgate (Swayzee, IN) and Ricky Westgate of Chester Gap, VA; eleven grandchildren and twenty three great grandchildren. There will be a visitation at 10 am with a funeral service to follow at 11 am on Wednesday, April 13th, at Jefferson Funeral Home located at 5755 Castlewellan Drive, Alexandria, VA 22315. Following the service, graveside service will be held at Mount Comfort Cemetery at 6600 S. Kings Highway, Alexandria, VA 22306. After the service, all are welcome to a reception held at the Schulze Residence located at 14521 Chamberry Circle, Haymarket, VA 20169.
