Kyriacos (Charlie) Euripides

December 8, 1932 - April 14, 2022

Passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 14, 2022, of Alexandria, VA. Beloved husband of the late Barbara Euripides; cherished father of Charles (Joanne), Michael (Evanthia) and Chris (Sophia) Euripides; and brother of Richard ; grandfather of Barbara, Elefteria, Charles, Evangelos, Chrysanthi, Maria and Paraskevi. He will truly be missed by many. Charlie was born in Karavas, Cyprus to Euripides and Maria Hadjiyiannakis on December 8, 1932. He immigrated to the United States in 1951 and resided in Alexandria, Virginia. He served in the United States Navy from 1956-59 aboard the USS New Jersey and USS Salem. In 1959 he accepted ownership of the Royal Restaurant where continued to serve as CEO for next 63 years. Voted “Living Legend” of Alexandria and Alexandria Veteran of the Year 2018, member of Post 24 American Legion, Order of AHEPA 438, Cyprus Society of America and the Alexandria Lions Club. Relatives and friends may call on Monday, April 18, 2022, at Jefferson Funeral Chapel, 5755 Castlewellan Dr. Alexandria, VA 22315, from 5-8PM. Funeral service will be held at St. Katherine Greek Orthodox Church, 3149 Glen Carlyn Rd. Falls Church, VA 22041, on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at 11AM. Interment directly following at National Memorial Park, Falls Church, VA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St Katherine Greek Orthodox Church.
