Kenneth "Joe" Oliver Rapert

July 21, 1932 - May 10, 2022

Kenneth “Joe” Oliver Rapert of Springfield, Virginia passed away on Monday May 10, 2022. He is preceded in death by his parents, Normal and Bonnie Rapert, wife, Margaret “Peggy” Rapert, son, Gary Rapert, grandson, Ryan Rapert, and siblings, Elvin Rapert, Jake Rapert, Norma Ray, Robert Rapert, Jack Rapert, and Bonnie Boyette. Joe is survived by his two sons, Mark Rapert(Doris) and Kelly Rapert (Natasha), grandchildren, Jessica Rapert, Brittany Rapert, Jordan Rapert, and Bethany Rapert, great-grandchild, Charles David Garcia, and siblings, Carol Bobbitt and Nancy Early. Joe was the co-founder of Alexandria Drafting Company (The map people) and the business is still in existence today. In recognition of his service, Kenneth received the Melvin Jones Award which is a lifetime achievement award with the Lions Club (45 years). Kenneth was also a faithful volunteer with Greenspring retirement Community where he lived for 18 years. He was a devoted Christian man that served fully in Del Ray Baptist Church and 1st Baptist Church of Springfield. Most importantly, Kenneth loved his family especially his grandchildren and great-grandson. Family and friends may gather at Jefferson Funeral Chapel on Tuesday May 17, 2022 from 2:00PM to 4:00PM and 6:00PM to 8:00PM. A service will take place at Jefferson Funeral Chapel, the following day Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at 11:00AM with a graveside service to follow at Mount Comfort Cemetery.
