November 8, 1954 - August 9, 2021
Jimmie Lee Webb, Jr. (Shorty), the fifth oldest of the late Jimmie and Geraldine Webb’s eight children, was born on November 8, 1954 in Knoxville, TN. Shorty was called to eternal rest on Monday, August 9, 2021, at the ManorCare Nursing Home, Arlington, VA. Shorty was baptized at an early age at St. John Baptist Church in Arlington, VA. Shorty was raised in Alexandria, VA where he attended the Alexandria public school system. After attending T. C. Williams High School, Shorty went to work for the government for many years until he retired from DSA Administrative Support Center at Cameron Station Military Base in Alexandria, VA. Shorty worked as a laborer maintaining the grounds on the military base. He never married and had no children. Shorty had many close friends and his reputation preceded himself. If someone was picking with you, you knew to call Shorty and he always had your back. His bold personality was completely transparent to all and it did not go unnoticed. Everyone knew Shorty even if they did not know anyone else in the Webb Family. He loved to fish, play spades and when he had a good hand, you would know it because you would hear him tell his partner “To put the wheels on it”; and he kept everyone in stitches. Shorty was preceded in death by Jimmie Lee Webb, Sr. (father), Geraldine Webb (mother), James Clark (brother), Samuel Webb (brother), Charlotte Burks (Webb) (sister) and great nephew (Marcus Gayles). Surviving to cherish his memory are siblings Alfonzo, Jacqueline, Felicia, and Landis Webb. Two sister-in-laws Shirley Webb and Jacqueline Clark, Nephews: Anthony Holmes, James Holmes, Alfonzo Jr., and Garrison Webb. Nieces: Stacey Fogg, Portia Holmes, Takiyah Jones (Kevin), Geraldine Bennett, Elizabeth Massey (Calvin), Rochelle Burks, Samantha Jacobs (Cornell), Sylvia Webb, and Niema Brown. A host of great nieces and nephews. Close cousins of Arlington, VA, Clarence Bussell, Clinton, Jama, Patricia, Vivian, Marlon, and Clinton, Jr. Davis. A host of other relatives (Arlington, VA; Knoxville, TN; and Muncie, ID) and friends. Shorty’s closest friends: Clyde Ross, Larry Holmes, Bunny Hubbard, and Fredrick (Don) Lazenby.
