Jeanne B. Zanin

May 23, 1935 - January 26, 2022

Jeanne B. (Maillet) Zanin, 86, of Springfield, Virginia, passed away at home, surrounded by her daughters, on Wednesday, January 26th, 2022 after a brief illness with cancer. Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents, Leonel and Lauria Maillet, and her loving husband of 59 years, Wilbur F. Zanin, Jr. She is survived by her 3 daughters: Diane Lynn Madura (Bob), Stephanie Jean Fortune ( Hank) and Valerie Ann Sikora (Tim), 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Jeanne was born and raised in Waterville, Maine. She served in the Navy as an air traffic controller from May 1957 to Nov. 1959, where she met her husband, Wilbur. Their service took them across the country where they eventually settled in Springfield, Virginia. Jeanne graduated from George Mason University in 1976 with a BA in American Studies. She was an associate broker for 18 years with several real estate companies. Jeanne enjoyed many hobbies including ceramics, dollhouse building, painting anything that did not move, was a master puzzle builder, loved trips to Vegas and other casinos. She has a passion for football (HTTR) and hockey (Go Caps). Jeanne will be honored for her military service and laid to rest with her husband at Arlington National Cemetery (future date TBD). Jeanne requested that in lieu of flowers, please donate to a local food pantry or just be kind and pay it forward. She will be missed and loved by all who knew her. Rest In Peace, Mom.
