Anna Mae Fish Anna Mae Fish, 93, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 24, 2022, at Greenspring Village in Springfield, Virginia. Raised in Flandreau, South Dakota, she is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Alvina Schultz, her five siblings, Mary, Ruth, Janet, Russell and Arvin, and her loving husband John L Fish. She is survived by her children Russell Fish (Pia), Ronald Fish (Gina) and Joanne Duncan (Brace), grandchildren Benjamin Duncan, Anne-Marie Turman, Erik Fish and Sean Fish (Rachel); great-granddaughter Mae A. Turman; sisters-in-law, Elaine Casteel (Perry) and June Fish, and many dear nieces and nephews. Anna met and married John, a native of South Dakota as well, and lived in Maryland, California, and Japan before settling in Alexandria, Virginia where they raised their family. Anna remained active in her community, cross stitch organizations, St. John’s Lutheran Church, and traveled extensively before settling into the retirement life at age 90 at Greenspring Village where she had many friends. She will be missed for her laughter, friendliness, phone call conversations, pragmatic counsel, and unconditional love. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 19, 2022, at 11:00 AM at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 5952 Franconia Road, Alexandria, VA 22310. Anna will be laid to rest with her husband at Arlington National Cemetery at a future date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to St. John’s Lutheran Church.
