Victoria Morgan Kimber

One Spring day in 2011, Victoria Morgan Kimber's life began as Alexis and Chris decided to begin, what would be an arduous process of conception via In Vitro Fertilization (IVF). On 25 July we were blessed to have conceived in what we called "sweet pea," as that is the image we viewed through ultrasound in August. The first few months brought more surprises as she steadily grew without any complications. November arrived and the wonderful news disclosed that Alexis and Chris were having a girl and later that month brought forth the name of their "sweet pea," Victoria Morgan. The nine months preceding the birth of Victoria were extremely exciting, sharing all the wonderful moments that most parents share: choosing a name, furniture shopping, figuring out which feeding bottle will prevent "gas," picking the safest side-impact, 82-point harness, self-leveling, lower anchor tether car seat system known to man, amongst many other fun things for Baby Victoria. In fact, it took nearly one month to complete her room and it became known as the "best looking room in the house!" The nine months brought beautiful growth not only in Victoria but our relationship—Victoria's mission was to make the relationship the closest it has ever been, her blessings were not only physical, but also emotional and everlasting. Thursday, 22 March 2012 began just like any other weekday—rise to the 0530 alarm, breakfast on the table for Alexander at 0600 and breakfast for Alexis between 0630-0700 and Alexander off to school at 0630. Once Alexis would have her breakfast and juice, Victoria would slowly wake, and begin her gymnastic practice session. At 0826 the phone call was made to Labor and Delivery, to inform them that Victoria seemed to have missed her gym practice. We arrived at Fort Belvoir Community Hospital, five different nurses/corpsmen/doctor's later, at 0915, Victoria was pronounced to be without a beating heart. Devastated, Alexis and Chris were escorted to their room in the Southwest corner of the fifth floor, where Alexis would have to give birth to Victoria. Alexis and Chris embraced each other that fateful morning in that Southwest corner room and at 1105, the hospital staff began their mission to assist Alexis in delivering sweet little Victoria. Alexis' mother, Ilva, and their close friend Julie arrived around 1600 for mutual support. Stunned by Alexis' mother's arrival, a sweet embrace only a mother and child can have ensued. After being induced at 1105, Alexis labored for 13 hours and at 0011, Sweet Baby Victoria Morgan was born. She weighed 5 pounds 12 ounces and measured 19.5 inches tall. Absolutely breathtaking. Sweet embraces by Grandma Ilva, Godmother Julie and brother Alexander continued for as long as time would permit—Alexis and Chris were able to spend 4 hours with Victoria and those moments, that amount of time, was the most precious in their lives. Chris then escorted little Victoria, along with Doctor's and staff to another room where she was safely held until Aaron with Jefferson Funeral Home received Victoria into their care one week to the day, Thursday 29 March 2012. Sweet Baby Victoria Morgan is a beautiful girl with immeasurable blessings. Following Victoria's passing, Blessings were immediately noticeable as family and friends filled the rooms of the Kimber household showering us with Love, emotions, and tears of happiness and sadness. Her life of 9.6 months was short, yet her memory will be everlasting and the Love for her is immense. We Love You Victoria and We Miss You Sweetheart ~ Mommy and Daddy.
