Tina E. A. Kutchmanich

On February 27th, 2024, most beloved daughter, sister and friend passed away in Herndon, Virginia at the age of 65. Tina Elisabeth Anna Kutchmanich was born on December 27, 1958, in Yuma, Arizona to Metro ‘Sonny’ and Gerlinde Kutchmanich. The eldest of three siblings, Tina was named after both of her grandmothers, Elisabeth Hemm of Germany and Anna Kutchmanich of Pennsylvania, and as she matured into a beautiful women, she shared a striking resemblance to her German grandmother, ‘Oma’ Elisabeth. Tina grew up in Alexandria, Virginia, graduating from Mount Vernon High School and Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in 1982 with a Bachelor Degree in Science. Throughout her professional career, she worked as a Veterinarian’s Assistant, a Restaurant Manager, an IT Specialist and settled into the position as an Insurance Agent the latter part of her life. She retired in 2019, residing in her home in Manassas, Virginia for over 32 years. Tina had a keen interest in the life and heritage of Native American Indians and shared their respect, love and devotion to animals which they consider sacred. With a fondness for Eagles, Hawks, Wolves and Horses, she became a licensed Falconer, specializing in Raptors, also known as Birds of Prey, kept and trained Hawks and Owls and raised domestic Cockatiels, Parrots, Canaries and Finches. She loved to ride horses, and owned and cared for her Appaloosa, she named Cheyenne. Tina was also a motorcycle enthusiast and like her father, an avid hunter, having inherited his hunting gear, she learned to use a bow and arrow for personal sport and to catch game used to train her Hawk and Owl. Tina was also a talented artist, a collector of Bev Doolittle, and skilled at crocheting and knitting, creating beautiful blankets and scarfs, which she lovingly gave as gifts to be treasured. Tina is proceeded in death by her mother Gerlinde, who passed on the same day three years prior on February 27, 2021, her brother Dimitris ‘Dee’ Kutchmanich, and father Metro ‘Sonny’ Kutchmanich. She is survived by her loving sister, Janet Kutchmanich Daniel of Silver Spring, Maryland, and several cousins and relatives across the United States and throughout Europe. A private viewing was held at Jefferson Funeral Chapel on March 4, 2024. A celebration of her life, to be determined at a later date.
