Timothy Michael Williams

Timothy Michael Williams, 64, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 16, 2025. Tim was a beloved spouse, father, pop-pop, brother, and friend to so many. He is proceeded in death by his loving wife, Wanda K. Williams. He is survived by his daughter, Casey Hill (Kyle), his ham-some grandson, William Hill, and his siblings: Mitt Williams, Tina Hausen (Bill), Laurie Wheeler (Bob), and Harry Williams. He also leaves behind his fur-best friend, Tanner. The third of five children, Tim was born on September 19, 1960, in Washington D.C. to Harry and Lorraine Williams. Growing up, Tim was surrounded by his amazing parents and siblings who were always there for one another. He had a great love for all sports, but playing football was his favorite. If he wasn’t playing sports, he could be seen racing his bike or spending time at the local pool with his siblings. Tim loved to be outdoors no matter what he was doing. After graduating Groveton High School in June of 1979, Tim enlisted in the U.S. Air Force as a Law Enforcement Specialist. He spent the early years of his military service as a Patrol Dog Handler before working his way up to become a Law Enforcement Supervisor. He served in various locations, most notably, Osan Air Base (South Korea) and Whiteman Air Force Base (Missouri). Tim obtained the rank of Staff Sergeant (E-5) and after 8 years of continued service, he received an honorable discharge in April of 1988. His service awards include the Air Force Achievement Medal, Air Force Good Conduct Medal, Air Force Training Ribbon, Air Force Longevity Service Ribbon, and the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award. Immediately following his time with the Air Force, Tim accepted employment as a federal civilian with the U.S. Department of the Army. He spent majority of his 25+ year career as a Military Personnel Technician in the Quartermaster/Chemical Branch, Combat Service Support Career Division. Though he held various leadership positions, he was always happiest helping Soldiers PCS to their desired locations or securing seats to attend required trainings. Tim was friends with many colleagues and even kept in touch with them after he retired in 2016. In the early 1990s, Tim met the love of his life, Wanda K. Gosney, during a Bingo night in Alexandria, VA. The two hit it off and they quickly began to create a beautiful love story. They got married in 1992 and welcomed their beautiful baby girl, Casey L. Williams into the world during the blizzard of March 1993. The family of three spent the next 8 years making memories until the unfortunate passing of Wanda in 2004 to Ovarian Cancer. Though completely heartbroken, Tim stepped up and raised his daughter to be the amazing woman she is today. The sun rose and set with Casey and Tim would have done anything for her. Tim was a constant source of strength, guidance, and unconditional love throughout Casey’s childhood and adulthood. They have many fond memories together like going to Ocean City and Myrtle Beach, going out on their boat, attending Redskins games, hanging by the backyard pool, doing house projects, decorating for the holidays, and just being with one another. They never let a day go by without checking in on each other, even if it was just to say hello or see what the other was up to. They were the best of friends. From coaching Casey in youth basketball, to investing and supporting her at every match in her tennis career throughout middle, high school, and college, he always made sure that she knew he was her biggest fan. Tim found some of his greatest joy in the milestones of his daughters’ life. He beamed with pride when she married a wonderful man, often speaking highly of the love and bliss they shared. Soon after, the biggest thing in life Tim dreamed of, became reality. Becoming “Pop-Pop” brought him endless happiness and he cherished every moment spent with his grandchild. Since retirement, he was often found on the front porch of his home in Alexandria, VA during the week, where his neighbors called him the “Mayor of Virginia Hills.” On weekends, he could be found at Monroe Bay Campground in Colonial Beach, VA. Tim’s favorite memories were the ones filled with laughter—movie nights on the deck with his brother, music turned up loud enough to get everyone dancing, golf-cart rides, karaoke nights, and simply being surrounded by good friends. During this time, he also found a love in music and would DJ weddings and gatherings often. He sure knew how to keep people on the dance floor! Tim was the life of every party he entered, and his passing leaves a massive hole in our hearts. Please join us in the events listed below to celebrate the fantastic man he was.
