Nancy Marie Tobias

Nancy Marie Tobias, of Reston Virginia, passed away on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at the age of 57. She is preceded in death by her brother Jay. She is survived by her husband, Glenn Wayne Tobias, children; Renee, Andrea, Christopher, Michelle, Benjamin, Michael, Robert, Daniel, Abigail, Ian and grandchildren; Samson, Dorothy, Benjamin, Myles, Easton, and Jeremiah, and soon-to-be baby girl, and siblings; Gary, Christopher, Timothy, Bobby, and Joe. Nancy, born and raised in the Mclean, Virginia area, grew up loving horseback riding, skiing softball and basketball. She loved sports and loved watching her children play football and rugby. She was unwaveringly patriotic. She loved good food and fellowship; architecture and fine craftsmanship, and everything that thrilled all five senses. Nancy knew how to enjoy and appreciate the big and small things, and could find the sweetness in every moment. For all those who knew her, their description is the same – warm, welcoming, gentle, friendly, selfless, humorous, compassionate, accepting, safe, and loving. Making people feel loved was her mission and she loved to love. Maya Angelo once said “At the end of the day, people will not remember what you said or what you did, but they will remember how you made them feel.” Nancy moved through the world with a radiant and compassionate spirit. She was always living in the moment, wholly present with whoever was with her, making them feel loved, accepted, welcomed and safe. Nancy loved people, but above all these things she was in love with her Savior, Jesus Christ. A dedicated believer and disciple, she breathed truth and the light of the gospel into the world and to those around her. She was unabashed in her faith and trust in the Lord and dedicated her life to loving Jesus and others. Nancy was a loving and honoring wife, an adoring mother, a beloved grandmother, a cherished sister, and a wonderful sister-in-law, aunt, neighbor, and friend. We will never stop missing Nancy and her beautiful and radiant presence. She was cherished by all. An open house service will take place at Jubilee Christian Center (4650 Shirley Gate Rd, Fairfax, Virginia) on Thursday May 27, 2021 from 5:00-8:00 PM. A formal memorial service will be held at Jubilee Christian Center on Friday May 28, 2021 at 10:00 AM. The family is asking all attendees to please still wear masks while indoors. Our goal is to keep everyone as safe and healthy as possible.
