Lisa Marie Wilusz

Lisa Marie Wilusz, age 54, of Alexandria, Virginia, passed away on April 11, 2017 at Fairfax INOVA Hospital after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. She was the beloved wife of Daniel Wilusz of Alexandria to whom she had been married for twenty years. Lisa was born in Olean, New York on November 11, 1962 and grew up in Manassas, Virginia. She graduated from Stonewall Jackson High School in 1981, and went on to graduate magna cum laude from James Madison University (JMU) in 1995 and as the top student in JMU's School of Business. She was the daughter of Donald William and the late Evelyn Jane (Williams) Mayer. Lisa had an impressive twenty-year career with the federal government that culminated with her serving in the Senior Executive Service as the Director of the Office of Procurement and Property Management with the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Besides her husband, Daniel, Lisa leaves her son, Daniel Parrett (Ornawee "Goy") of Alexandria, Virginia; her daughter, Jocelyn Reschke (Dino) of Fredericksburg, Virginia; and her two grandchildren, Eva Reschke and Ben Parrett. Additionally, Lisa leaves her father, Donald Mayer of The Villages, Florida; brother, Rick Mayer (Jeanine) of Leesburg, Virginia; brother Rob Mayer (Alice) of Bristow, Virginia; sister, Amy Klein (Bob) of Gallatin, Tennessee; brother Don Mayer of Vienna, Virginia; "honorary sister", Dale Jepson (Andrew) of Manassas, Virginia; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and close friends. Lisa was an avid reader and loved to travel, play games and shop for clothes (much to Dan's dismay). But, her true passion was her family. Above all else, she cherished time spent with loved ones (not to mention, Diet Coke, popcorn and the occasional margarita). She was a mother, sister, friend and mentor; and a true example of a life well lived. We are all better for having known her. We love you, Lisa. We will always love you, and it will be impossible to fill the void your leaving has left in our hearts. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 17, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., and then again from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Jefferson Funeral Chapel, 5755 Castlewellan Drive, Alexandria, Virginia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church, 6222 Franconia Road, Alexandria, Virginia with burial to follow at Mt. Comfort Cemetery in Alexandria.
