Ligia S. Reyes

Ligia Susana Reyes, 84, partió con el señor el viernes 14 de mayo 2021. Tomó su ultimo aire de vida a las 6:09pm. Murió en paz en su residencia, rodeada de su familia. Ligia nació el 26 de abril del 1937 en Gachalá, Colombia. Sobreviviente de sus padres, María Dolores Contreras de Reyes y Juan de Jesús Reyes. Madre de cinco hijos: Gladys, Marilia, Milcio, Efren,y Marlen; abuela de 13 nietos, y bisabuela de 6. Honrada madre, una mujer que nos dio ejemplo de superación, de amar sin condiciones, siempre miraba la necesidad del prójimo por encima de sus propias necesidades. Ella lo daba todo sin esperar nada a cambio. Al llegar a los Estados Unidos en el año 1980, conoció los caminos del cristianismo; el seguir a Jesucristo con todo su corazón fue su deleite. Eso decía, que al leer la biblia - la palabra, le daba mucha paz y las fuerzas para seguir adelante a pesar de las muchas tribulaciones que se le presentaban. Fue realmente una mujer de mucha fé. Le gustaba mucho cocinar y todo lo que preparaba lo hacía con mucho cariño. Todo aquel que llegaba a su casa siempre era bendecido con un rico plato de comida. En el transcurso de su vida alojo muchas personas en su casa, supliendo toda necesidad, tanto spiritual como material, con un carácter jovial. Muy alegre, reía constantemente, le fascinaba cantar, bailar, cocer y tejer. She took her last breath at 6:09 pm. She passed peacefully at her residence, surrounded by her family. Ligia was born on April 26, 1937 in Gachalá, Colombia. Daughter of María Dolores Contreras de Reyes and Juan de Jesús Reyes. She is survived by her five children: Gladys, Marilia, Milcio, Efren, and Marlen; grandmother of 13 grandchildren, and great-grandmother of 6. Honored mother, a woman who personified the overcoming of adversity, taught us unconditional love, and always looked at the need of others above her own needs. She gave everything without expecting anything in return. Upon arriving in the United States in 1980, she learned the ways of Christianity; following Jesus Christ with all her heart brought her pure joy. She proclaimed that the word of the bible brought her immense peace and the strength to carry on despite the many tribulations that life presented. She was truly a woman of great faith. She enjoyed to cook and everything she prepared she did so with great love. Everyone who came to her home was always blessed with a delicious plate of food. Over the course of her life, she hosted many people in her house, supplying every need, both spiritual and material, and always in her jovial manner. She was upbeat and happy, she laughed constantly, and she loved to sing, dance, cook and knit.
