Of Alexandria, VA, formerly of Lynn, MA, on July 24, 2018. Loving wife and dance partner of Kenneth Hoggard; mother of Shawn O’Neill (Michele), Scott O’Neill (Amy), Kerry Blais, Kenneth Hoggard (Wendy), Karin Kenny, and Steven Hoggard; Also survived by twelve grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, her brother, Francis Morrissey (Marianne), and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Gliding softly across the floor An angel here on earth you say one we could all adore. Dancing, spinning, angel pirouetting through the sky Soaring, floating astonishingly, over the clouds you fly What brought you here to earth to make us marvel so As dancing through your daily world you amaze us as you go. You danced into my life a whirlwind of beauty and grace How could I be so lucky to gaze longingly upon your face. You took my hand and then my heart and taught me how dance We danced through joys and sorrows, we danced and danced and danced. Could I have this dance for the rest of my life seemed an appropriate request You smiled and said of course my dear, you only had to ask. We danced across the years, decades now it’s true Oh how we danced, me and my angelic you. As others gaze upon your dance they wonder at your grace How could such charm and elegance all be in just one place. If it was only your dancing we might not gaze in awe But it’s how you lived your life that impressed us most of all. Gentleness, kindness, love in everything you do Your example makes us better as we ask what would Carol do? Your dancing days are ending here but it makes no never mind As all who know you, still see you dancing in their minds. How cruel to take you from us, we are just learning life’s dance How sad for us on earth to know we’ve seen our last Angel Dance. Now dance with the angels darling your dance on earth is through.
