Andrea Corsillo

Andrea Corsillo, of Alexandria, VA, peacefully gained her wings and was summoned to be in God’s Presence on Monday, October 16, 2023, after a fight with a rare Central Nervous System (CNS) Lymphoma type of Cancer. She is the beloved wife of Paul, devoted and loving mother of Vince and Catherine, and grandmother of Julie Stephens. Andrea was born in Dunbar Township, PA on October 4, 1944, to John and Wanda Walchesky. She graduated from Dunbar High School as the Salutatorian. She married Paul Corsillo on August 7, 1965, in Alexandria, VA. Andrea is survived by her husband Paul, her two children, Vince and Catherine, her granddaughter Julie Stephens, and her siblings Lawrence and Bernadette. The late Victoria, Edward and Elizabeth were also her siblings. Andrea had numerous Godchildren, and lots of nieces and nephews. She also had many wonderful friends she cherished. She will truly be missed by many. Andrea was an active leader in her community. She loved helping and giving back in many ways. She was active in St. Louis Church with the Eucharistic Ministry for the homebound, Catholic Council of Women (CCW), Bereavement Committee, St. Lucy Guild, Poor Clair Nuns, and Chapel Adoration. She also led many activities in the Lions Club - sold many Football mania tickets and Virginia Nuts, organized the Peace Poster project for various local schools, white cane, Seeing and Hearing booths and collections and more! She visited the sick, volunteered at Mt. Eagle School by reading, library assistance, classroom help, and other tasks. She loved doing yoga and had a knack with her wonderful plants! She loved sending heartfelt letters and remembering everyone’s birthdays and used fun postage stamps! She had fun taking her chances with scratch tickets and at the casino. It was difficult to keep up with all her energy! We will miss her fun, quick wit, her humor and her loving smile! Family and friends are welcome to a Celebration of Andrea’s life, to include a closed viewing at Jefferson Funeral Chapel, 5755 Castlewellan Dr., Alexandria, VA 22315, Sunday, October 22, 2023, 5PM-8:30PM. Prayers at 5:15PM. Funeral Services, including a closed viewing and Holy Mass, Monday, October 23, 2023, 10:00AM, St. Louis Catholic Church, 2907 Popkins Lane, Alexandria, VA 22306. Burial at Mt. Comfort Cemetery, Alexandria, VA 22306, with a reception following immediately at the St. Louis Catholic Church - Little Way Cafe (far white building to the right in the church parking lot).
