Allison Courtney Clark

Allison Courtney Clark passed away peacefully on July 25, 2022. Allison was born on July 15, 1981, in Washington DC. She was one of three children of the predeceased Donna Courtney and survived by Roger Courtney. She grew up in Burke VA with her twin brother, Adam Courtney and older brother, Andrew Courtney. Allison attended Robinson Secondary School. She became a mother to Eve Alyn Courtney at 20 years old and raised her in Burke, VA. On August 29, 2014, she married Kevin Clark and moved to Manassas, VA where they have lived since along with Eve and their two children (twins), Abraham and Adelaide, and her father Roger. Allison was a devoted mother, daughter, sister, and friend to so many. Allison was a social butterfly growing up. She got along with everyone. In high school, she stayed busy participating in many different extracurricular activities including theater, choir, and drill team. If music was involved, she was all in. She formed friendships during those early years that are still strong to this day. Everyone close to Allison probably has a concert story or experience with her. She loved live music and always had multiple concerts in her calendar. With Kevin, she was even recently able to travel to Red Rocks in Colorado for the Avett Brothers, her favorite band. Allison worked as a billing specialist and loved her job immensely. She felt incredibly supported by Fairfax Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and was so dedicated that she continued to work up until the day of her final hospitalization. Allison could see the humor in all situations; sometimes with real mirth and sometimes with sarcasm, but always with a sense of ease about her. When you did something that she thought was ridiculous she would give that look, the one that seemed to let you know she was laughing at your choices in the kindest way. Her humor helped her see the fun or the laughter in even the hardest times. Allison was well known as a strong member of the 12-Step recovery community. Over the last few years her strength in that community helped her tremendously in carrying through her battles with cancer with grace, faith, and dignity. Allison carried on a long family tradition of needlepointing. Grandma Rose and her mom were good, but Allison took it to the next level by drawing the designs herself. Wherever Allison traveled, even to the hospital for treatment, her needlepoint was with her. She was always creating special pieces for her family and friends. She carried on the family tradition of strong women. Allison became a mother at an early age and with the support of her parents and community raised a beautiful strong woman, Eve. Allison made another turning point in her life when she met Kevin. She hadn’t quite figured things out until then, but with Kevin it just clicked; they soon married and had twins of their own. Allison loved Kevin to no end, and Kevin was with her by her side at her passing. Allison is survived by her father, Roger Courtney; her husband, Kevin Clark; her children, Eve (20), Adelaide (7), Abraham (7); her brother Andrew (Dominique), and Adam, her twin brother, and her beautiful nieces and nephew, Camilla (10), Rocco (8), and Cleo(2). We love you, Allison. Rest easy and be at peace. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday July 27, 2022, at 1pm at Temple B’nai Shalom, 7612 Old Ox Road, Fairfax Station, VA 22039 followed by interment at 3pm at King David Memorial Gardens, 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, VA 22042. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Donna W. Courtney Music Fund, c/o Temple B’nai Shalom, 7612 Old Ox Road, Fairfax Station, VA 22039.
