Col. (Ret.) Robert Mitchell Nutt (age 81)
Of Alexandria, VA passed away on Sunday, July 22, 2018. He was a devoted husband to Carol T. Nutt for 58 years. He was the loving father of three children, Mitchell Eric Nutt, Chandra Nutt Branham (Mike Branham) and Lauren Nutt Aigner (Patrick Aigner); grandfather of Ryan Mitchell Nutt and Madeline Elisabeth Nutt, brother of Marcia Oppermann, and uncle and great-uncle to numerous nieces and nephews.

Colonel Nutt was born in Hot Springs, AR, and attended the University of Arkansas, where he earned both his bachelor and law degrees, and where he met his wife, Carol. They were married in 1960. He later had a distinguished Army career, serving 22 years in the Judge Advocate General (JAG) Corps. After retiring from the Army, Col. Nutt worked as a consultant for many more years. But more importantly, he and his wife loved to travel, and together they explored the world. Col. Nutt was a dedicated family man and was happiest when he was spending time with Carol, who he adored, and his children and grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at Plymouth Haven Baptist Church, 8600 Plymouth Road, Alexandria, VA 22308 on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Family and friends are invited to gather at 10:00; luncheon and fellowship will follow the service. Inurnment at Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, or a charity of your choice.
