Obituary for Blain Ray Banick

Blain Ray Banick
December 26, 1966- January 25, 2018
Unexpectedly, on January 25, 2018, Blain Banick of Arlington, VA, passed away peacefully in his sleep at the age of 51. He is survived by his loving wife Danna Banick, loyal four-legged, furry best friend Reveille, brother Theo (wife Jolynn and children Hudson, Taylor, Payton) Banick and sister Tina (husband Brian and son Tyler) Steele of Edmonton, AB. Father-in-law Charles R. Schraeder, Brother-in-law Jeff Schraeder, Brother-in-law Darren (wife Tina and children Jordan, Jeremy, Meredith, Chloe) Schraeder. He was predeceased by his Father Raymond Banick, mother Elizabeth Zilinski Banick, mother-in-law Diana Holmes Schraeder.
Blain graduated from the University of Alberta with an Undergraduate in Political Science and an MBA in Marketing and International Business, becoming an accomplished and well respected senior Business Development & Marketing professional, holding such roles as Chief Marketing Officer and Chief Business Development Officer at leading national and international law firms. A fanatical former hockey goalie and avid golfer, Blain enjoyed numerous athletic pursuits, both as a participant and a spectator. Generous, loyal, passionate, dedicated and selfless are a few words that would describe this husband, brother, uncle, teammate and friend who was taken too soon and will be missed terribly.
Per family wishes, a memorial will soon be held in his honor in Dallas. (Please check back here for the date and time or contact a family member.) If you’ll be traveling to attend, please notify a family member so we can help with arrangements. At a later time, a private Celebration of Life will take place in Edmonton for invited guests. Anyone wishing to make a donation in Blain’s memory is encouraged to direct those donations to the Petsmart Charities at www.petsmartcharities.org.
